Greg Kennedy, Founder and General Manager
Greg is a General Contractor with B and C-46 (solar) licenses and has over 30 years experience installing Solar Hot Water and Photovoltaic systems. Throughout the 1980’s, Greg was part owner and project manager of the Solar Center in San Francisco. He was also Field Supervisor for Trident Energy Systems and New Energy Works. Greg is a graduate of Occidental College.
Jonathan Perdue, Executive Advisor
Jonathan provides Occidental years of business leadership in a diverse range of markets and environments. His career experience includes starting, developing, merging, and selling companies. He is assisting the Occidental Management team identify and implement strategic objectives. In 1976 he co-founded and served on the Board of Directors of the Solar Center, a solar energy design and installation business.
Jay Ruzicka, Design Engineer
Jay has been with Occidental Power since April 2009. He moved to California in 2001 to start working in the PV industry. He has experience in sales, design, and project management. He can design on-grid PV systems with or without batteries. He recently installed a solar PV lighting system in Nicaragua while volunteering with Green Empowerment. Jay studied Chemical Engineering & Appropriate Technology at Drexel University.
Shane Ossa, Production Department Manager
Shane is a native San Franciscan and started working part time with Occidental Power in the fall of 2002 while he was studying Liberal Arts at the College of Marin. He eventually came on full time as a solar technician before becoming a journeyman installer, project leader and ultimately a Product Department Manager. Shane is extremely versatile and is capable of managing and installing both Solar Thermal and Photovoltaic projects for residential and commercial properties. Shane is a talented and multi-faceted team player on the Occidental Power Solar team.
Zoey Burrows, Operations & Customer Service Specialist
With a longtime passion for solar, Zoey has been at Occidental Power since summer of 2011. In this short time, she has helped launch the company’s residential Lease program, become versed in local rebate and federal grant processing and enjoyed learning the many facets of running a small business. Previously she worked in Sungevity’s Customer Care Department and as Development Associate at Solar Richmond, a solar job-training non-profit in the East Bay. A graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont, she worked in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward after college, an experience that taught her about the fragile intersection of humanity and the environment. A Bay Area native, she’s excited to be working to solarize local communities with a company that employs local talent. Zoey grew up in the Sacramento River Delta and enjoys speaking Spanish with the locals and watching the meter run backwards on her family's ground-mounted 10kW solar PV system.
Keith Burkland, Field Supervisor
Keith worked in electrical construction for more than 25 years before moving to the solar industry. He started in his father’s company in Lakota, North Dakota then worked Minneapolis, Minnesota before moving to San Francisco in 1979. As a Master Electrician, he entered into the solar industry in 2002. He has a B.A. from the University of North Dakota, class of 1975.
Grant Garson, Project Manager & Crew Chief
Grant brings to Occidental Power over 30 years of experience of working in the solar trade and building construction management. Grant was with the Solar Center in San Francisco in the 1980s and with SF New Energy Works afterward. He was the founder of Pacific Energy Technologies construction company of San Francisco in the 1990s. Grant is a Project Manager for Occidental Power overseeing large scale projects, both thermal and electric. He is also an expert with Tecogen cogeneration systems.
Douglas Wilkins, Solar Consultant
The first property developer to install solar panels on a "speculative" house, Doug Wilkins came to Occidental Power from the customer side of the equation. After hiring Occidental Power to install solar systems on four of his properties (including his own home), Doug came to Occidental Power and proposed that he work for US as a solar consultant, and that is exactly what has come to pass.
