Based in San Francisco, Occidental Power has designed and installed solar energy and cogeneration systems for 15 years. We've installed the majority of the solar systems in San Francisco, pioneering the city's initial residential solar installation and net-metering systems.

Job Description: JOURNEYMAN
The Journeyman is responsible for assisting, and occasionally leading, in the installation of solar electric, solar hot water, or cogeneration systems.
Qualifications
A Journeyman should have the following skills:
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of electrical or plumbing systems
- Advance carpentry skills for rack construction
- Ability to bend pipe and run conduit
- Ability to work in a group and receive direction from Foreman
- Ability to lead crew during absence of a Foreman
- Reliable and consistent attendance
- Willingness to be part of a cooperative team
Responsibilities
Journeyman follows the direction of the Foreman. The following tasks are the responsibility of the Journeyman:
- Specialized field labor to include electrical, plumbing or carpentry
- Restock materials
- Basic carpentry and construction work
- Keep Foreman informed of material needs for job
- Keep jobsite organized and clean per instruction of Foreman
- Operate the necessary tools safely
- Pull materials for job
- Should a Foreman not be present, Journeyman directs and assigns tasks of installation
